Over a series of rambling afternoons sat in front of the fire and fuelled by repeated mugs of tea, my lovely friend Jacq and I started to regale each other with our musical loves and our favourite musical anecdotes. This slowly, but surely, evolved into sharing tunes, building into whole Spotify playlists.
….And this is how the Listening Club was born!
After an initial burst of enthusiasm (call it a feature-length pilot, or something like that) we settled into a series of about hour-long playlists. Sometimes just a collextion of choice tracks dragged from our mutual memories, with a tendency to head for the ‘deep cuts’ from the path less travelled. Other days we worked to a theme, pulling together collections of songs around a particular topic. But always quality music for the discerning listener (ie our own self-indulgent urges).
We thought it would be wrong to keep all of this magic to ourselves, so we left these playlists public, sharing them with the odd friend (and we have plenty of those between the pair of us).
